Joyful Surprise

My sister Liber due around October 27. On a Monday afternoon, my sisiter together with my mother were having a birth preparation, getting ready to go to a  hospital when she starts to feel terrible on her stomach. We  all panicked a little. Maybe I got the more conscious feeling that time. They all had to get over to the hospital with all thier gear.

My brother-in-law Ruel together with my mother had been given specific instructions by the time that they went t the hospital, that as soon as my sister went into labor they will be able to know what to do. I was texted by Ruel and telling me that my mom wanted my older sister Janette went to the hospital to be her substitute as they are waiting for Liber to get labor.

At the Midwife’s Clinic, the midwife said that my sister has increased her blood pressure, that’s why they imply to send my sister to the hospital for her maximum security of delivery.

It took a long time of birth preparation. I was not sure on how Ruel handled the pressure on staying close to his wife. I knew he should stay close to my sister for both thier sakes, and for the coming baby.

It happens that they were on a dawn of Tuesday when the labor of my sister takes place. It didn’t take long as what they say. A nurse called their names to see the baby was in her arms. It was a baby boy! Thanked God.

Baby Ruber, was born on October 28, 2008 at 3:25 AM with a 8 pounds in weight. A cuddly, white skin with black hair and eyes.

Baby Ruber brought extreme joy to our family. We all felt a new spirit, a surge of hope, when my sister carried her baby boy through the door. Within a few days it was hard for us to imagine what life in our house and been like before he came to us.

In the joyfu spirit of each day that the baby brought, for us, it is a joyful surprise. For the next few days, we absolutely sure that the baby will bring joy and demonstrate healing powers on our tired bodies after work.

We should count our blessings

In some instances, We wasn’t be able to say that we’re fully happy in all the blessings and graces that we have received. Sometimes, we feel not contented, we also feel guilty for being up when others are down. We can’t be able to enjoy all those nice  and wonderful things that comes in your life, just to see those people on the streets hungry and ragged, leaving them dependent on the dole and charity, or others fail to get a job and keep on searching to reach for a better one.

Guilt-stricken were people hide from their success because they feel they don’t deserve it. That was we absolutely felt at several point of time. We wasn’t be able to convince ourselves that we have all the most success in our life. Although, we also suffered pain, guilt and misconceptions still we blame ourselves on the time that we encountered on our way. Either when it is bad or good.

To stop this self-defeating behavior, we should give ourselves credit when we do something right and realize that your success doesn’t cause others to fail. If others try to make you feel guilty for that trip to USA, job promotion or else, keep in mind that your going is not what is preventing them from going. You are not as powerful as you think you are. Do the best you can and just remember that only God knows you deserves what you received. Don’t forget to give thanks, share your blessings and keep your feet on the ground.

Canibad Escapades

Last Saturday, The Liga ng mga Kurimaw (LINK) Group had an annual outing, and for this year venue is the secret paradise of Canibad at Island Garden City of Samal, Philippines. It has been a more or less two hours of travel from Davao City to the said place. It was an extreme adventure for us, because most of the member had their first time going to the place. Even myself enjoyed the two days and one night escapades. It  has been an another journey to be treasured. I want to share my journey together with my group, as we travel and explore the place.

We went to the place by batch. And luckily, Me, myself and I together with the other LINK member had our first trip, Saturday afternoon. Other member had their work on Saturday, until five in the afternoon. They are the second batch of the group who’ve took to the place. They are the night trippers and we are the early birds (Hahahahaha). At first I taught that the place is quite an easy one to be traveled. But sad to say, it was the most challenging journey as I ever experienced. We ride on a bus and took on the Barge in order for us to go to the island.

When we are on our way, we are so cool and very excited to meet up the said place. We are having a conversation on what would be the place looks like. Even though we have companions that knows what the place is, still we figure out what’s on our mind. For more than thirty minutes on bus, we took the Barge for a couple of minutes. It is the fastest way to travel, we’ve lessen our time in traveling via Barge than taking the bus alone.

We took for more than forty-five minutes from the bus terminal on where our bus stop, to the main road of the place where we are actually going. It was a long and rough road journey. Trees, flowers, few houses and lots of coconut trees, corn fields that we have seen when we are on our way to place. It was totally an urban place or maybe it was the place where you to take yourself close to the nature. Perfect!

When we meet the place, it was a relief, we’ve seen the white sand and blue sea. The air was refreshing into our lungs. A nice paradise. Aside on the fact that we usually had this outing to bring the friendship closer. Not only through the web but to meet and share the wonderful memory together. We’ve spend our time exploring the place. For me, bonding with the group together with the wonderful venue is a perfect match to say: “This is the place I want to be with…”. Having us all had a different lives after college, separated by place and works. Still we’ve met again and reminisced the past memories together.

I enjoyed myself. The whole group was enjoyed the place. Even when we are heading ourselves back home still the one question keeps on the main topic for us. ” Why is it called a Secret Paradise when there are just people knows the place? “. The answer?… ” Let’s just keep it as a secret.” It’s for you to see the place and have your questions answer when you get there.

To all LINK: Thanks guys for having this wonderful and memorable escapades. See you again to the next venue. More pictures on Liga ng mga Kurimaw (LINK) Group
